In January 2007, Loroch CTLS launched a uniquely formatted two day Molecular Biology course for non-biologists. The idea was to help busy professionals acquire all the basic tools necessary to get a true understanding of biotechnology. Nearly 600 participants from all professional venues have since attended our trainings and the consensus is: it works!

But two days is very short and biotechnology encompasses many domains.
In fact, many of our course participants have been asking us for more detailed courses on specific topics.
What is it ?
To answer this need, we have designed a highly modular course offering, made of 20 different one day modules that you can assemble as you wish. We call this program: Bio(techno)logy Literacy Days.
Universities take years to train students in these topics so that they become experts.
You will only need days to become literate in the same topics and ready to engage in effective self-directed learning.
How does it work ?
We have designed a number of one day modules on specific subjects. These include:
- A one-day executive review of the entire field of biotechnology. This is a stand-alone course.
- Several one-day modules that you can assemble in any sequence you wish .
For a custom course, your sequence should include:
- The Biologist's Toolbox day
All of biotechnology rests on a limited set of essential biological concepts,features of techniques. Understanding what is inside this "toolbox" is absolute essential, unless you have prior knowledge of biology. It is also highly recommended for all those that need a good refresher.
- One or more modules on topics of interest
- For a custom course to take place, a minimum of 6 participants is required.

Who is behind this program?
Bio(techno)logy Literacy Days is an ongoing project by Loroch Communication & Training in Life Sciences , a Swiss educational company headed by Vanya Loroch, a US-trained molecular biologist with over
fifteen years of experience in
applying emerging technologies to
scientific communication and
education.
The modules are delivered jointly by three expert trainers, specialized in biotechnology, bioanalytics and physiology.
The different modules are assembled with the help of expert content providers that are part of the Loroch CTLS network.
