What is it ?

Our 2 day compact courses are designed for professionals that are faced with biological information but have no formal training:

attorneys, businesspeople, chemists, computer scientists, engineers, healthcare professionals, investors, journalists, politicians, regulatory affairs specialists...

... and any other professional who needs to gain a broad understanding of modern biology.

Our courses are suitable for scientists and non-scientists alike.

Three versions are offered :

• The General Biotech course will provide you with a broad understanding of biology, including industrial, agricultural and medical applications. Download course outline
• The Red Biotech course will cover the same basic science, but focusing on medical and pharmaceutical applications. Download course outline
• The Green Biotech course will cover the same basic science, but focusing on plant breeding, genetically modified plants and agriculture in general. Download course outline

Day 1 is devoted to road-mapping the entire field of molecular biology and understanding how biologists think and what lies at the heart of this science.

Day 2 is spent exploring short cases illustrating all of the important features of molecular biology. We reveal the common processes and unifying principles underlying many agricultural, medical, pharmaceutical and industrial biological techniques.
Online extensions will help you consolidate your knowledge and expand your understanding of the ongoing biotech revolution.

Who is the organizer?

Molecular Biology and Biotechnology for non-biologists is an ongoing project by Loroch Communication & Training in Life Sciences, a Swiss educational company headed by Vanya Loroch, a US-trained molecular biologist with over fifteen years of experience in applying emerging technologies to scientific communication and education.
